What we collect

When you buy from us

  • Name, email address, phone number

  • Order details and purchase history
  • Payment confirmation, but not your full card number, which is handled by our payment providers

When you book a repair or sell us a device

  • Your contact details
  • Device make, model, IMEI or serial number
  • A description of the fault or the condition of the device
  • Proof of identity and proof of ownership where we are buying a device from you

When you use the website

  • Pages viewed, items added to basket, and how you reached the site
  • Device type, browser and approximate location, taken from your IP address
  • Information stored in cookies, described below

Why we use it

  • To fulfil your order or repair. We cannot process a sale or return a repaired device without your contact details.
  • To meet legal duties. We keep records of second hand device purchases, including identification, because we are required to.
  • To handle warranty claims and returns. Your order history tells us what you bought and when.
  • To improve the shop and the website. We look at aggregate figures, not individual browsing.
  • To send marketing, only where you have asked us to. You can stop this at any time.

Device data during a repair

We do not need your passcode for most repairs. Where a repair cannot be completed or tested without unlocking the device, we will ask you first and explain why.

We do not browse, copy or extract personal content from devices left with us. Back up your device before handing it in. We are not able to recover data lost during a repair, and we will tell you before starting if a repair carries a risk to your data.

Devices we buy are wiped and factory reset before resale.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed, and only with:

  • Shopify, which hosts this website and processes orders
  • Payment providers, who process card payments
  • Delivery carriers, where an order is being posted
  • Parts suppliers, where a warranty claim requires it
  • Our accountant, and HMRC where required
  • The police, where we are legally required to assist with an enquiry into a stolen device

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses:

  • Essential cookies, which keep your basket working and let you stay signed in. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies, which tell us which pages are visited and where visitors come from.
  • Marketing cookies, where used, which measure whether an advert led to a visit.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the site from working.

How long we keep it

  • Order and repair records: six years, for tax and warranty purposes

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

Payments are processed over an encrypted connection and we never see your full card details. Devices left with us are stored securely and are only accessible to staff. Paper records are kept locked.

Children

This website is not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information. Anyone selling a device to us must be 18 or over and provide identification.

We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
